Dine & Charge helps people find restaurants, cafés, pubs and hotels where EV charging is available on site. This privacy policy explains what information is handled when you use the Dine & Charge website and app.

Information we collect

Dine & Charge does not require you to create an account and we do not currently ask you to provide your name, email address, telephone number or other personal information in order to use the service.

Location information

The Explore map can request access to your device location. If you grant permission, your browser provides your approximate device coordinates so the map can centre on your location and show nearby venues.

The current Dine & Charge web application uses this location in your browser to display the map. We do not store your location in the Dine & Charge venue database or associate it with a user account.

You can deny or revoke location permission through your browser or device settings. The map can still be used without providing location access.

Venue and map data

The service uses venue and EV charging information stored in our database, including venue names, addresses, coordinates, charging details and other publicly available business information. This information relates to businesses and locations rather than individual users.

Google Maps

Dine & Charge uses Google Maps to provide mapping functionality. Google may process technical information and map-related requests when you use the map. Your use of Google services is also subject to Google's own privacy policies and terms.

External websites

Venue pages may contain links to external venue websites. When you follow one of these links, you leave Dine & Charge and the external website's own privacy policy applies.

Cookies and analytics

The Dine & Charge application does not currently require cookies or an account to provide its core venue-search functionality. If analytics, advertising or other optional tracking technologies are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated before or when those technologies are used.

Security and hosting

Dine & Charge is hosted using third-party infrastructure. Like most websites, technical information such as IP addresses, browser information and request logs may be processed by hosting and security providers as part of delivering, securing and maintaining the service.

Children

Dine & Charge is a general-purpose service for finding places to eat, stay and charge. It is not directed specifically at children and does not knowingly request personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on your circumstances and applicable UK data-protection law, you may have rights relating to personal data, including rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal information.
